- Outcome: FAIL
- Weighted score before hard-gate overrides: 85.5% (59/69)
- Positioning track evaluated: Executive leader

## Central Mandate

Own all technical decisions for a remote B2B AI software platform, manage the engineering team, set architecture and engineering process, review work before production, own reliability/security/performance, manage infrastructure/vendor costs, and partner with the founder on the technical roadmap.

## Evidence Map

| Requirement | Weight | Score | Keith evidence |
| --- | ---: | ---: | --- |
| Build and operate production software systems used by paying customers | 3 | 3 | Built AssistX, a production GenAI platform with 70+ automations across 20+ workflows; delivered the first release within eight months; previously delivered production platforms at SuccessKPI, TriMark, MassMutual, NorthBay, AWS customer work, and earlier SaaS/product roles. |
| Directly manage engineers, review work, give corrective feedback, and improve performance | 3 | 3 | Built and technically led an 11-engineer Agile team at Intelligent DataWorks; led engineering teams at SuccessKPI, TriMark, NorthBay, AWS communities, and earlier software organizations. |
| Ship LLM products beyond prototype stage and understand production failure modes | 3 | 3 | Architected and helped build AssistX using LLMs, RAG, agents, LangChain, LangGraph, vector search, evaluation, observability, guardrails, and AWS operations. |
| Own system architecture across platform, advisor layer, and integrations | 3 | 3 | Repeated platform architecture ownership across AssistX, SuccessKPI workforce-management SaaS, TriMark AWS data lake, MassMutual privacy/AI governance systems, NorthBay AI/ML accelerator, and AWS customer architectures. |
| Establish code review, testing, deployment, documentation, and quality process | 2 | 3 | Source context supports Agile delivery, CI/CD, TDD/testing, deployment standards, code review, quality controls, and engineering standards across several leadership roles. |
| Translate founder/business priorities into a sequenced engineering roadmap | 2 | 3 | Current founder/CEO experience includes product vision, technical architecture, commercialization roadmap, engineering execution, and 0-to-1 delivery; TriMark and SuccessKPI show business-priority translation into delivery plans. |
| Own reliability, security, and performance | 2 | 3 | Built cloud-native systems with security, IAM, CI/CD, governance, privacy, monitoring, and operational requirements; delivered MassMutual privacy-rights and governance platforms. |
| Make build-versus-buy decisions and manage infrastructure/vendor costs | 1 | 2 | Strong architecture/vendor/service selection and AWS cost/managed-service experience; direct budget ownership is less explicit. |
| Lead technical hiring as the team grows | 1 | 3 | Hired, mentored, and grew engineering teams at Intelligent DataWorks, SuccessKPI, TriMark, and earlier roles. |
| Willingness to accept equity-only compensation until funding | 3 | 0 | Direct conflict with Keith's stated job-search criteria. |

## Direct-Match Strengths

- Strong CTO-level functional and level match: current Technical Co-Founder and CEO plus VP/Head/Senior Director roles.
- Direct production GenAI match: AssistX platform with 70+ automations across 20+ workflows, LLMs, RAG, agents, LangChain, LangGraph, PGVector, Python/FastAPI, and AWS.
- Direct engineering-leadership match: recruited and technically led an 11-engineer Agile team while remaining hands-on.
- Strong restaurant-operator adjacency: TriMark delivered enterprise data/analytics transformation for a $1B+ foodservice/restaurant equipment organization.

## Hard or Material Gaps

- Equity-only compensation with no current salary is a hard compensation conflict under Keith's criteria.
- The role appears startup/founding-team equivalent and explicitly requires personal financial capacity to accept equity compensation.
- Travel is not disclosed, but no travel conflict is visible.

## Keyword Diagnostic

- Covered high-priority JD terms/concepts: Chief Technology Officer, architecture, production software, large language models, engineering team management, code review, testing, deployment procedures, documentation, technical roadmap, reliability, security, performance, infrastructure costs, vendor costs, hiring.
- Missing or intentionally not optimized because no materials were generated: Foresio-specific advisor layer, independent restaurant operators, equity compensation.

## Full Job Description

Chief Technology Officer

Foresio AI, LLC - Remote (United States) - Equity Compensation

About the company

Foresio AI is a B2B software platform serving independent restaurant operators. Our product is built around seven AI advisors (and counting), each responsible for a distinct area of restaurant operations, including accounting, inventory, staffing, reputation management, competitive research, menu performance, and daily reporting. The advisors deliver intelligence and execute actions across the channels operators already use.

The product is built and in the market. We have an engineering team covering backend, frontend, and quality assurance, a project manager, and a sales organization of more than 30 representatives running outbound. What the company needs now is a single technical leader who owns architecture, quality, and delivery.

The role

The Chief Technology Officer owns all technical decisions at Foresio and directly manages the existing engineering team. This is a leadership position, not an individual contributor role with a title attached. You will spend a significant portion of your time reviewing other people's work, setting the standard for what ships, and raising the level of the team already here.

Responsibilities

Own system architecture across the platform, the advisor layer, and all third-party integrations

Manage the current engineering team, including backend, frontend, and quality assurance, and set clear expectations, priorities, and deadlines for each person

Review code, technical designs, and completed work before it reaches production, and hold the team to a consistent quality bar

Run regular one-on-one meetings and provide direct performance feedback, including where someone is falling short

Establish and enforce engineering process, including code review standards, testing requirements, deployment procedures, and documentation

Determine the technical roadmap in partnership with the founder and translate business priorities into a sequenced engineering plan

Own the reliability, security, and performance of the platform

Make build versus buy decisions and manage infrastructure and vendor costs

Lead technical hiring as the team grows

Requirements

Substantial experience building and operating production software systems that paying customers depended on

Direct experience managing engineers, including reviewing their work, giving corrective feedback, and improving individual performance over time

Practical experience shipping products built on large language models beyond the prototype stage, with a working understanding of what fails in production

Demonstrated ability to move quickly without accumulating technical debt that stalls the company six months later

Comfort operating with incomplete information and making decisions without waiting for consensus

Willingness to accept equity as compensation, which requires a personal financial situation that supports it

Compensation

This position is compensated in equity with standard four-year vesting and a one-year cliff. There is no salary until the company completes a funding round, at which point compensation will be revisited. The equity grant is meaningful and reflects ownership by the founding team rather than a standard early-employee grant.

To apply

Send a summary of systems you have built and operated, a description of teams you have managed and how you handled a performance problem on one of them, and your assessment of what would concern you most about this opportunity to hello@foresioai.com. (Subject should be Chief Technology Officer Application)
